"Tommy" Rhymes is a collection of First World War Poems. 

Arthur Vidal Diehl (1870 – 12 January 1929) was best known as a prominent English impressionist landscape artist. Diehl was born in London, England, but for most of his career, he lived in Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States where he painted Old World and New World landscapes. Diehl's Old World subjects include scenes from Italy, Morocco, England, and the Netherlands. His subjects in the United States include Cape Cod, Boston, St. Augustine, Florida, and New York City. His son Arthur Charles Vidal Diehl (1909 - 1 February 1998) also became an artist.

The book measures 12cm x 19cm.

CONDITION:

Please view all listing photographs for the best understanding of condition. Various signs of age, use and wear. The dust jacket has a few closed tears along the front top edge, head of spine also has a tear with some loss. Striking black illustration of a fallen soldier with title on front of dust jacket, matching front board. Black title on spine. A few light marks, rear dust jacket has darkened patch on the upper third, likely sunned. The boards are in good condition, age toned, lightly marked. Hinges/joints firm with no splitting. Page edges intentionally rough cut. Text block age toned, mild foxing dotted throughout, mostly affecting outer margins. Black ink inscription filling the front first end paper, no further inscriptions, highlighting, underlining or notes. 

Overall the book remains in good reading condition, with a few common signs of age, use and wear. A scarce edition, with interesting inscription by the Authors son.
