CONDITION:
The book measures 10.5cm x 15.5cm.
There are various signs of age, use and wear. The leather boards have discoloured, along with some scuffs, and noticeable surface scratches. The spine is particularly sunned, now a much lighter shade. Gilt title and floral gilt decoration on spine between 5 raised bands. Gilt line running along entire edge of boards. All gilt still bright. All joints good, no splitting. Gilt page edges, bright but with a few light scratches.
Blue and pink marbled end papers and paste down. Gilt line and dot border, with flower motif in each outer corner. Some discolouration on flyleaf matching the adjacent leather boarder surrounding pastedown. Hinges remain good, strong with no splitting. First blank end paper has a pencil handwritten description of binding, along with a glued in bookseller sticker of Henry Sotheran Ltd. Overall contents in good condition, appears little used. Slight age toning, and minimal spots of foxing. One green ribbon marker, in good condition.
Overall it remains in good reading condition. A lovely leather bound edition, bound by the respected Bumpus Ltd. Please view all the photographs for the best understanding of condition.
