Containing speeches made by William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury, and Ernest Henry Lamb, Lord Rochester, in the House of Lords on March 23rd 1943. The speeches outlining the atrocities within the Nazi regime and calling for the British Government to urgently develop plans for the rescue of Jewish refugees.
CONDITION:
This is a small 16 page pamphlet, staple bound. Measuring 12cm x 18.5cm.
Bound in original yellow paper cover. Toning and fading from the outer edges on both sides. Full page title on front, bright and legible text, rear cover has a statement urging the reader to take action in arranging public meetings to spread support. Front cover has a small stain which follows through to the inside cover, looks like a liquid droplet splash. It doesnt obstruct text. Text block generally age toned/yellowed. All text clear and legible. No paper tears, folds or creases. No previous owner inscriptions.
Overall in good reading condition considering its age and pamphlet style, these binding not usually surviving in great numbers. A scarce first edition, with a few other examples held in Holocaust Museums and Library Institutions around the world. A sombre example of the worlds slow response to the Nazi regimes atrocities.
