Sold by Parkins & Gotto, Oxford St. W, who received royal approval and were Court Stationers from 1893.
CONDITION:
Cream Vellum leather binding. Darkened and discoloured with age/use. Noticeably marked with a grubby handled patina. Gilt stamped royal emblems in the corners of both front and rear board, with additional larger Royal Coat of Arms central to the upper board. Gilt title on spine. All gilt remains generally bright, with slight dulling in parts. Vellum turn-ins on inside covers also decorated with gilt line border and royal emblems in each corner. Binder/Seller stamp on bottom edge of first end paper, Parkins & Gotto, Oxford. Hinges/Joints holding firm, no splitting. No previous owner inscriptions, underlining or notes. Text block in good condition, thick creamy paper, rough cut edges. Top edge gilt, darkened and slightly marked. All text legible, in red and black ink throughout. A couple of slight closed tears on outer margins.
Overall the book remains in good reading condition. A scarce limited edition, in rare binding. A little grubby and worn but remains attractive. A lovely addition for those that collect Royal Memorabilia or History enthusiasts.
The book measures 16cm x 25.5cm, 1.5cm thick.
