CONDITION:
Please view all listing photographs for the best understanding of condition. There are various signs of age, use and wear. Red half leather binding with marbled boards. There is significant shelf wear, rubbing along the edges, corners bumped and worn, spine joints surface worn and frayed. Marbled boards scuffed and edge worn. Gilt title on spine bright. Page edges have a red speckled design. Despite the clear surface wear across the binding it still remains firmly bound, hinges holding well. Pale blue paste downs and end pages a little soiled. Overall text block age toned/yellowed, foxing dotted throughout. Numerous pencil and ink annotations, margin notes, and underlining throughout much of the contents. Its difficult to determine how much of each book is present, however it appears all that was intended to be bound together is here, with no evidence of torn or loose pages. A couple of page edges protrude along the fore edge, resulting in a slightly torn and wavy edge.
The book measures 13cm x 18cm, 6cm thick.
Overall the book remains in acceptable reading condition. An unsual compilation of books bound together in a custom combination. Lots of interesting techniques and methods for the novice artist to explore. Clearly well used, but with lots of life left in it yet!
