The book provides a detailed account of the iron trade industry from its origins to the present day (1841). The book covers the history of iron production and trade in various countries around the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. It provides an overview of the technological advancements that have shaped the industry, as well as the economic and social impact of iron production on different societies.

CONDITION:
Please view all listing photographs for the best understanding of condition. Quarter vellum binding. Spine and board corners creamy vellum with ruled gilt decoration, remaining dark green cloth. Spine has red leather title label in gilt, with gilt bands. Vellum has darkened/discoloured slightly with age and handling. Some mild shelf wear and rubbing but very good considering age. Spine label a little marked. Boards holding very well, firm hinges/joints with no splitting. End pages and paste downs foxed. Booksellers label glued to bottom edge of front board, 'R. Rayson, Dealer in Books & Prints, 90, High Road, Chiswick, London.' Half title page has a ink inscription, possibly reads as Ann W Renton, 1841, although could be wrong! Text block in good reading condition, mild age toning throughout, mainly to margins. Lightly foxed in parts. Binding firm with no loose or missing pages. 

The book measures 23cm x 15cm, 3cm thick.

Overall the book remains in good reading condition. Sturdy and attractive binding, a surprisingly very scarce first edition. A must for those interested in the history of the Iron Trade, or those with a passion in the industry.
