CONDITION:
The book measures 18cm x 24cm.
There are various usual signs of age, use and wear. The cream cloth hardcover has noticeable fading, discolouration, staining and shelfwear. Corners bumped, head and tail of spine worn. Title and decoration fading in parts, front board has a pasted on Pied Piper map, surface scratched. The cloth has bubbled in parts, likely past moisture related, rear board more so. No other evidence of moisture within contents. Despite the wear the cover is holding well, joints still firm, binding sound.
A child's black ink inscription taking up a third of the front pastedown, with crude underlining also affecting the fore edge of front board, and slightly across flyleaf. Hinges holding well with no gutter splitting. End papers significantly foxed, along with minor foxing throughout contents, some page toning/yellowing. All contents perfectly legible, no additional inscriptions or notes.
All illustrations accounted for, all remain bound in. All in good condition, slightly toned with age but generally good. Small corner folds/creasing on a few but nothing significant.
Overall the book remains in acceptable condition, clear wear etc of the cover, however the contents remains in good reading condition. A scarce title, one which collectors of Cartography or Mythology may have a keen interest in.
